Understanding dogs

Owning a dog is one of the most rewarding human experiences, especially for children. Recent events and the subsequent publicity has highlighted the following two very important issues: - successful dog ownership demands that owners are aware of and accept the considerable responsibilities involved - many children and adults are unsure of how to react and behave around our canine friends. This classroom unit of work is designed to help our students explore both of these issues – understanding what dog ownership entails and how to keep safe around dogs.
